Manual Insert Loading Workflow for Vertical Molding

Manual insert loading is common in vertical molding because the operator can place inserts, terminals, cables, or substrates before mold close. The workflow must be repeatable and safe. Faster loading is not useful if it increases misload, insert shift, or safety risk.

This guide focuses on workflow review. It does not replace site training, machine documentation, or safety procedures.

Loading Workflow Review

• Confirm inserts are staged in the correct orientation before the mold opens.
• Confirm the machine is in the correct safe loading state before hand movement enters the loading area.
• Check fixture pins, nests, magnets, clamps, or locating surfaces for visible wear or contamination.
• Load inserts in the same sequence each cycle.
• Confirm the insert is fully seated before the next machine step.
• Remove finished parts without reaching into moving areas.

Common Workflow Problems

Manual loading problems often appear as insert shift, exposed insert, flash around inserts, inconsistent cycle time, or damaged parts during removal. If the problem follows one operator, one fixture, or one table station, record that pattern.

What to Record

Record insert type, loading sequence, operator, fixture condition, cycle time variation, and any misload or part defect. A safe video of the workflow can help support review, but it must be recorded outside moving or guarded areas.
