Automation cells combine the injection molding machine with robots, fixtures, conveyors, checking devices, or other auxiliary equipment. When a cell stops, the issue may be in the machine, the robot, the signal sequence, the safety boundary, or the production workflow.

This checklist helps teams collect safe support evidence. It does not provide robot programming or wiring instructions.

Cell Condition Before Production

Review:

  • Guarding and cell doors are in normal visible condition.
  • Emergency stop devices are accessible.
  • Robot and auxiliary equipment are in the expected mode.
  • Machine and robot programs match the current mold and product.
  • Part removal path, insert loading path, and reject path are clear.
  • Operators know the reset responsibility according to site procedure.

If a guarded area is opened or a stop occurs, the cause should be understood before production resumes.

Signal and Sequence Questions

When the cell stops or waits, record:

  • Is the machine waiting for the robot?
  • Is the robot waiting for the machine?
  • Is an auxiliary device waiting for a signal?
  • Which screen shows the alarm or waiting state?
  • At which cycle step does the stop appear?
  • Did the issue start after program change, mold change, fixture change, or maintenance?

These answers help support avoid treating every cell stop as a machine-only issue.

Evidence to Send

Send controller screenshots from the machine and robot or auxiliary device if available. Include a safe video only when it can be recorded outside guarded and moving areas. Also send photos of the fixture, part removal path, and any visible waiting point.
