Safe Shutdown Checklist After Production
Review a practical shutdown checklist for vertical injection molding production, including machine state, material handling, mold area, records, and support notes.
2026-07-12 - 5 min support note - Category: Operation Guides
A clear shutdown routine protects the machine state, keeps the mold area organized, and makes the next startup easier to review. It also helps separate normal end-of-shift actions from unresolved production problems.
This page is a support checklist, not a machine-specific shutdown procedure. Operators should follow the official manual and site rules for the exact machine and material.
Shutdown Review
- Confirm production has stopped in the correct operating state.
- Remove finished parts, rejected parts, inserts, and loose material from the work area.
- Record the final production count, scrap notes, alarms, and visible machine condition.
- Confirm the mold area is clean enough for the next shift or planned maintenance.
- Store the correct mold program and record any parameter changes made during the run.
- Follow material-specific shutdown steps required by the material supplier and site procedure.
What Not to Skip
Do not leave unresolved alarms without a note. Do not leave tools or inserts inside the machine area. Do not rely on memory for parameter changes made during the shift. If the next startup has a problem, missing shutdown records make the root cause harder to find.
Useful Records
Record operator name, machine model, mold number, material, program name, last stable production condition, unresolved issues, and whether the machine stopped normally or because of a production problem.
When to Contact Deboge
Contact Deboge if shutdown follows abnormal movement, repeated alarms, hydraulic warning, temperature instability, or unclear controller status. Send alarm screenshots and a short timeline of what happened before the machine stopped.
